“We wanted to create an app people actually want to come back to, the same way you return to Duolingo not to lose a streak, or check Strava to see how your run compares with friends.”
A water tracker app for iPhone and Android, built by a two-person indie team from Poland.
Waltermelon started at home: the wife of one of the founders had tried for years to drink enough water and kept giving up on trackers. Looking at those apps, the founders saw why. Most were built years ago, with cluttered screens, confusing menus and ads everywhere. One or two were nice, but none made you want to come back every day.
So they built the app they wanted to open: a clean design, Walter the animated watermelon who reacts to every glass, streaks and challenges that feel a bit like a game, and friends to drink water with, because a habit is easier to keep when someone keeps it with you. Waltermelon launched in October 2025 and is built by a two-person indie team from Poland.

“She kept downloading new trackers, logging every glass for a week… and then she'd forget about them. The apps were boring, impersonal, easy to ignore. That's when I thought: what if we created something that actually motivates you?”
We write and check the guides, comparisons and blog posts on this site ourselves. Facts about other apps come from their app store listings and from using the apps ourselves, on the date shown on each page. Numbers about Waltermelon users come from our own anonymous app data, and every page says how they were measured.
We make Waltermelon, so read our comparisons with that in mind. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, write to support@waltermelon.app and we will fix it.
